Seek the Peak DSLR Challenge! / by Douglas Koski

Thanks again to everyone who supported my family and friends in raising money for the Mount Washington Observatory in honor of my late Uncle Mike!  Our team was able to raise over $2000, a new best for our team!

That being said, we did make the $2000 group goal, and the weather did cooperate, and the camera was carried.  It was a challenge, indeed!  I don't know if I will do the hike again with a heavy DSLR, though, my Uncle John is already looking forward to trying to force me to.  TBD.

Here is the map of the trails we took.

Here are some of my favorite images taken while on the hike.

All in all it was a great experience and the weather was about as great as anyone could have hoped for!  Next year, Sinéad and I plan to be in better condition for the hike as well.  I was able to get a few videos from the hike.  They help to bring life to just what the clouds are like at the top of the mountain.

Brief shot of part of the Hike for Mike crew as we met up at the Boot Spur / Boot Spur Link junction. Sarah, Theresa, Aunt Marie, Johnny O, Lindsey, and Sinéad. Seek the Peak - 2016.
Lindsey and I take a much appreciated break as we wait for some of our hiking buddies to catch up. Seek the Peak - 2016. The wind was strong, might be good to turn down the volume for this.

Originally I had shared a Flickr link for the album of this hike.  I've gone back and forth about leaving that linkage, and have decided that I would like to keep the gallery as part of the post.  So, as a bit of a new update, here is rest of the album for the hike.
